Yes, when the items are in one order from the same Salvos store. On Salvos Stores’ own website, standard Parcel Post is $8 per store per order, and Express Post is $10 per store per order. Putting three items in one online basket can still mean paying postage three times. Rates checked 5 November 2026. Salvos shipping policy
First find the selling store
In the archived Nintendo DS listing pictured above, GLENROY, VIC appears just above the item title. That location is the detail to compare across your basket. If another item also comes from Glenroy, you can select both before paying. An item listed by a different shop is a second dispatch location. Open the archived listing image at full size
When shopping today, open each product page, note the fulfilment store, check the available delivery methods and inspect the final postage total at checkout. If you’re shopping on a different marketplace, use the delivery terms shown on that listing.
What three $12 items actually cost
Suppose you’re buying three garments at $12 each, all eligible for Parcel Post. The stock costs $36 before delivery in every row.
| One order contains | Standard postage | Total paid | Average cost per garment |
|---|---|---|---|
| All three from one store | $8 | $44 | $14.67 |
| Two from one store, one from another | $16 | $52 | $17.33 |
| One from each of three stores | $24 | $60 | $20.00 |
Moving from one store to three uses $16 more cash for the same ticket prices. If only two garments turn out to be fit to list and the third has no recovery value, your effective purchase cost per listable item rises from $22 to $30. That is before cleaning, selling fees or the postage you pay when you ship to your buyer.
Before adding a fourth item to “save postage”, look at the extra cost. A $12 top from the same store still uses another $12. A $12 top from a new store brings the extra outlay to $20 on standard delivery. If neither price leaves your target margin, leave the top out.
When free Click & Collect makes sense
Salvos offers free collection on eligible items at the shop that listed them. Look for the collection option, pay online, then wait for the email saying your order is ready. Salvos asks buyers to collect within 10 business days. A transfer to a more convenient branch is outside this service. Salvos Click & Collect instructions
For a trip you are already making, pickup could save the whole $8. For a special trip, allow for the extra travel. If the detour takes 25 minutes and you value your time at $24 an hour, that time is worth $10 before fuel or parking. In that example, $8 delivery is cheaper. You can also compare collecting one local item with paying postage on the distant store’s items.
Record buying postage once
For those three equally priced garments in the $44 order, you could assign costs of $14.67, $14.67 and $14.66 so your stock record agrees with the receipt. For a bundle with one standout item, use the bundle split calculator to divide the landed purchase cost by estimated resale value instead.
Keep the shipping you paid to acquire the stock in its purchase cost. When an item sells, record the label you buy to deliver it to your customer separately. That distinction keeps the same $8 from appearing twice in your inventory tracker.
Frequently asked questions
Can Salvos combine postage from different stores?
Salvos charges postage for each store represented in an order on its own website. Items from different stores attract separate postage charges.
What if I already placed two orders with the same store?
Contact Salvos promptly if both orders were placed with the same store on the same day. Salvos says it will try to help, but combining shipments or refunding postage depends on what has already been processed.
Can I collect an online order from my nearest Salvos?
Choose Click & Collect on an eligible listing and collect from the store selling that item. Check the ready-for-collection email before you travel.
