Vinnies advertised clothing, accessories, homewares and leisure goods for $10 or less at its new Auburn outlet. Furniture and electrical items are priced separately. The opening was announced for Saturday 31 October 2026 at 180–182 Parramatta Road, Auburn, NSW. If you’re sourcing clothes to resell, the interesting question is what a $10 purchase leaves after the sale. Vinnies NSW opening announcement

Plan your visit

As checked on 5 November 2026, Vinnies lists Auburn’s opening hours as 9 am–6 pm Monday to Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 9 am–9 pm Thursday; and 9 am–5 pm Sunday. Its store page has the map, phone number and current hours, including any changes before your trip. Auburn store details and directions

Vinnies also identifies warehouse-style outlets at 406 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills, and Unit 1, 142 Princes Highway, South Nowra. Those shops offer deals on selected categories. The $10 ceiling above comes from Auburn’s opening announcement. Check prices at each outlet independently. Vinnies NSW outlet guide

Two $10 purchases, two quite different results

Suppose you find a basic shirt and a pair of jeans with a readable style code. Both cost $10. Before joining the queue, check recent Australian sold listings for the same brand, style, size and condition. For this example, assume those checks support a $24 shirt sale and a $45 jeans sale. The figures are buying scenarios, rather than observed Auburn stock or sales.

Your estimateShirtJeans
Item sale price$24$45
Postage collected from buyer$10$10
Stock, postage label and packaging−$21−$21
Assumed marketplace fees−$4−$7
Left before your time and overhead$9$27
Left after 20 minutes at $24/hour$1$19

The $21 includes the $10 ticket, a $10 postage label and $1 of packaging. Enter your own fees and packed postage in the reseller ROI calculator. If the jeans sell for $5 less and everything else in the example stays the same, you still have $14 left after your time. The shirt has just $1 of room for an offer or an unexpected cost.

What to check while the item is in your hand

Start with the detail that sets the price. On jeans, photograph the fit or style code and read the fabric label. Compare the correct cut and the actual measurements. On a shirt, check collar wear, underarms and cuffs before looking up the brand. A sold result for a linen shirt tells you little about a similar-looking polyester one.

Look at what it will take to send. A ceramic platter may be within the ticket ceiling but require a larger box and more packing than you expect. Work out whether you can ship it at a price buyers already pay, or whether you have a realistic local pickup market.

Set a limit for the whole basket. Four $10 items use $40 immediately and create four listings to prepare. If only one has convincing sold comparisons, buying that one keeps $30 available for the next opportunity. The sold-listings guide shows how to narrow the comparison before you spend.

Keep the receipt and record each purchase separately. If a selected bundle has one price, the bundle cost calculator can divide that cost across the pieces you expect to sell.
