If you sell on eBay Australia and want AI to draft listings from your photos, the options narrow quickly. Several popular tools are built for the US first, and only some say plainly that they support ebay.com.au.

We compared six options using each company’s own website and help pages, checked on 31 October 2026: eBay’s built-in AI, Crosslist, PrimeLister, Vendoo, List Perfectly and our own app, Listalong Snap. Prices are in US dollars unless shown otherwise, because that is how the third-party tools publish them.

eBay availability updated 4 November 2026: the table and eBay section now reflect its confirmed Australian Magical Listing expansion. The third-party comparison retains its 31 October review date.

Disclosure: Listalong makes Listalong Snap, which is not yet available. We have described it as carefully as the others and marked what is still being finalised.

eBay’s built-in AI

eBay Australia’s Seller Centre says AI-suggested item descriptions are available for Australian sellers, generating a description “at the touch of a button” in the listing flow (eBay AI features). There is no extra charge.

eBay’s 28 October 2026 update confirms that its latest Magical Listing experience has expanded to new and reactivated Australian listers. Check your own account to see which experience is available. Our Australian rollout update explains what changed and which suggested details need a manual check.

Best for: occasional sellers who list one item at a time and want help with description wording.

Crosslist

Crosslist’s Create listings with AI feature says you can upload a photo and have titles, descriptions, categories, key attributes and a suggested price created automatically. A Bulk create with AI option groups a pile of photos into separate items.

AI is a US$4.99/month add-on to any plan, with monthly credits from 200 (Bronze) to 2,000 (Diamond). Each AI listing uses one credit (Crosslist pricing).

Crosslist is the clearest on Australia: its regional guide maps eBay to .com.au for Australian accounts. It has native iOS and Android apps.

Best for: sellers who want AI drafting and cross-listing to other marketplaces in one subscription. Our Crosslist in Australia review covers the cross-listing side.

PrimeLister

PrimeLister’s free mobile app lets you photograph items and have AI write the listing, filling the title, description, price, condition, category and colour as a draft (PrimeLister devices guide). Those drafts are then cross-listed from a computer using the PrimeLister Chrome extension.

The Crosslister plan is shown at US$49.99/month or US$399.99/year. PrimeLister’s pricing pages don’t say whether AI has its own limits. Our PrimeLister in Australia review found an eBay AU connection in its setup documentation.

Best for: desktop-based cross-listers who are happy to photograph on a phone and finish on a computer.

Vendoo

Vendoo’s AI Listing Enhancement generates descriptions and fills fields such as brand, title, category and size from details you enter, such as brand, condition, measurements and flaws. Its help page doesn’t describe drafting a listing from photos alone.

AI is included on the Growth (US$29.99/month) and Pro (US$59.99/month) plans, not Starter (Vendoo pricing). Our Vendoo in Australia review found that its public documentation doesn’t clearly confirm eBay Australia.

Best for: sellers already using Vendoo for cross-listing who want help with description wording.

List Perfectly

List Perfectly’s Listing Assistant generates listing details from uploaded images, with monthly AI caps from 25 listings (Simple, US$29) to 1,000+ (Pro Plus, from US$99) (pricing). Cross-listing uses a Chrome extension on a computer.

However, its FAQ says it supports US marketplaces only and can’t guarantee performance outside the US. That makes it a poor fit for eBay Australia sellers.

Best for: US sellers. Not recommended for ebay.com.au.

Listalong Snap

Listalong Snap is a phone app we are building for eBay sellers who photograph stock in batches. You photograph each item, tap Next item and keep going. Snap then uses the photos and your notes to prepare titles, descriptions and condition wording, using eBay’s category requirements to fill supported item specifics such as brand, size and model where there is enough evidence.

Two things set it apart from the tools above:

  • It publishes straight to eBay from your phone, one item or a whole batch, using your connected eBay account. It is not a cross-lister, and you don’t need a Listalong cross-listing subscription.
  • QR storage labels. Photograph a Listalong QR label on your storage tub and Snap saves the tub code in eBay’s SKU field, while keeping the label photo out of the listing.

Snap is in private iPhone testing, with Android on the way. Pricing is being finalised, with credit packs planned. Sign up for launch updates to hear when it’s available.

Best for: eBay sellers who list mixed stock in batches and want drafts, pricing research and storage codes handled from the phone.

How to choose

If you…Consider
List occasionally and want help with wordingeBay’s built-in AI
Want AI drafting plus cross-listing to Depop and other marketplacesCrosslist
Already cross-list from a computer with ChromePrimeLister
Already use VendooVendoo’s Growth plan
Sell only on eBay and list in batches from your phoneListalong Snap, when it launches

Whatever you choose, AI writes a draft. You are still responsible for the condition, measurements, authenticity and price. Our guide to what AI listing tools can and can’t do includes a five-point review checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI listing tool works with eBay Australia?

Of the third-party tools we checked, Crosslist states the clearest eBay Australia support, mapping eBay to ebay.com.au for Australian accounts. PrimeLister’s setup documentation includes an eBay AU connection. eBay’s own AI description suggestions are available to Australian sellers. List Perfectly says it supports US marketplaces only.

Is there a free AI listing tool for eBay?

eBay’s built-in AI description suggestions are part of the normal listing flow for Australian sellers, at no extra charge. Third-party tools that draft whole listings from photos generally need a paid plan or add-on.

Do AI listing tools set the price for me?

Some suggest one. Crosslist says its AI can create a market-optimal price, and PrimeLister’s app fills a price. Treat any suggestion as a starting point and check comparable eBay sold listings before publishing.
