A Depop bundle lets a buyer purchase several items from your shop together. It can make a small order worth posting and help clear related stock, provided the discount and delivery cost leave enough from the sale.
Before offering a deal, choose the items, estimate their packed weight and size, and calculate what remains after fees, stock, packaging and postage. Then check the shipping method on the completed order before dispatch.
Set up a bundle incentive
Depop’s bundle instructions describe item discounts and shipping incentives. Its current menu path is My Depop → My account → Sell more → Bundles. Options can vary as the app changes, so use the controls shown in your account.
An eligible incentive appears in the buyer’s bag and checkout. Check that the item count, discount and postage match your intended offer before promoting it.
A practical first offer might be “10% off when you buy two or more items”. Choose it because the numbers work for your stock, rather than because another shop uses the same percentage. Do not promise free postage until you have checked what the combined parcel will cost.
Check Australian shipping before promising one parcel
The Australian shipping guide distinguishes supplied Depop labels from older manual-shipping listings. The Australia Post rollout explainer covers why both can exist in one shop.
Depop’s dedicated bundle-label page covers the US & UK. Do not assume its automatic combined-weight or mixed-shipping instructions apply to an Australian order.
For an Australian bundle:
- Open the order and identify every item included.
- Check whether it supplies a Depop Shipping label and which parcel requirements apply.
- Pack the complete order, then weigh and measure the finished parcel.
- Confirm the label or manual service is suitable for that parcel.
- Ask Depop to resolve a missing, conflicting or unsuitable supplied label before sending.
Do not buy replacement postage for a supplied-label order simply because you have used MyPost Business for another sale. Our shipping walkthrough explains the two fulfilment paths.
Work out the cost of the discount
Consider a hypothetical shirt listed for A$35 and trousers for A$25. Together they total A$60. A 10% item discount removes A$6, leaving A$54 in item revenue.
That calculation says nothing yet about postage or profit. Two light garments may fit together easily; boots and a coat may need a much larger parcel. Measure the actual combination rather than adding two old postage estimates.
Free shipping is paid for by the seller. Combining it with an item discount means funding both incentives from the same sale. Compare the two options before switching either on.
An AUD example: discount alone versus free postage too
This example concerns an older manual-shipping order. It assumes A$54 of discounted items, A$11 total stock cost, A$1.20 packaging, A$12 actual postage, no boost and no applicable tax. The A$12 is invented for the example, not an Australia Post or Depop quote.
The current Australian processing rate is 2.6% plus A$0.30 on the item price, shipping and applicable taxes; there is no standard Australian selling fee. Processing applies once to the bundle transaction.
| Seller calculation | Buyer pays A$12 postage | You offer free postage |
|---|---|---|
| Discounted items | A$54.00 | A$54.00 |
| Seller-collected postage | A$12.00 | A$0.00 |
| Processing, rounded | −A$2.02 | −A$1.70 |
| Actual delivery cost | −A$12.00 | −A$12.00 |
| Packaging | −A$1.20 | −A$1.20 |
| Stock cost | −A$11.00 | −A$11.00 |
| Remaining before tax, overheads and labour | A$39.78 | A$28.10 |
Adding free postage reduces the remaining amount by A$11.68 in this example. The cost is slightly less than A$12 because the processing charge also falls. If you wanted at least A$30 left before tax, overheads and labour, the discount-only option meets that target; the free-postage option misses it.
To check your own manual-shipping bundle, use: item revenue + postage collected − processing − actual postage − packaging − stock cost. Deduct any boost or other applicable charges too. For a supplied-label order, use its actual receipt and shipping deductions instead.
The buyer’s Australian marketplace fee is separate from your revenue. For bundles, its percentage uses the combined item amount and the fixed component applies once. Check the checkout total rather than treating the advertised discount as the buyer’s entire saving.
Build bundles buyers can understand
Make the contents specific: “blue shirt, tagged M, and black trousers, tagged 12” is easier to check than “the two pieces we discussed”. Confirm the included items, discounted price and shipping arrangement within Depop, then make sure the checkout order matches that agreement.
If you create a custom bundle listing, keep a record of which original listings it replaces. After the purchase completes, update every included item’s stock record and any matching eBay listings. An enquiry about a bundle is not a completed sale.
Photograph and describe each garment’s condition. A discounted bundle can still generate a problem if a sleeve mark or missing belt was omitted. Number the pieces in your packing notes so a similar-looking shirt does not get substituted by mistake.
Check the complete transaction for protection
Depop’s seller protection policy treats a bundle as one transaction. Its Australian A$450 eligibility limit includes shipping and applicable taxes, alongside the other conditions.
For example, two A$220 items plus A$15 postage make A$455 before any tax. Pricing each item below A$450 does not put that transaction within the cap. Read our seller protection guide before accepting a valuable bundle.
Before dispatch
Before sealing the parcel:
- Match each garment and tagged size to the order, including any belt or accessory promised.
- Check that the condition notes cover every included piece.
- Check the receipt address and the label’s parcel requirements against the packed order.
- Keep your item list, tracking and proof of lodgement with the sale record.
Use the fee calculator to test the margin, and the offers guide when negotiating a combined item price.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn on Depop bundle discounts?
Depop’s current guide directs sellers to My Depop, then My account, then Bundles under Sell more. Review the incentive available in your account and check how it appears in the buyer’s bag before promoting it.
Does free bundle shipping cost the seller money?
Yes. Free shipping means the seller absorbs the delivery cost. Add the packed postage, packaging and other deductions to your calculation before combining free shipping with an item discount.
Do Australian Depop bundles automatically get one larger label?
Do not assume that. Depop’s dedicated combined-label instructions are explicitly for the US and UK. For an Australian order, check the actual supplied label and parcel requirements, and resolve a missing or unsuitable label with Depop before dispatch.
