Depop is introducing integrated Australia Post shipping for Australian sellers. When an order uses Depop Shipping, its label or QR code comes through Depop and tracking connects to the sale automatically. You still pack the item and hand the parcel to Australia Post.
The change matters most if your shop has a mixture of older listings and newly created ones. Those orders can need different postage routines, even when every parcel is going through Australia Post.
The Australian rollout dates
Depop’s Australian shipping policy sets out two dates:
| Australian account | Policy effective date |
|---|---|
| Users who signed up from 6 October 2026 | 6 October 2026 |
| Existing users | 26 October 2026 |
There was also an invitation-only beta starting on 23 September 2026, documented in the Australian beta terms. That trial date does not establish when every Australian account received access.
The current Australian shipping guide says access is being released in phases. The policy date and the date a feature appears in your account are different things. Check the options in a new listing and the shipping method on the sold order.
Which listings change?
Depop identifies its integrated service as the shipping option for new listings once the rollout reaches the account. Existing listings keep their Other setting and can continue to require manual postage.
That creates two practical routes:
| Sold order | Your next step |
|---|---|
| Supplies a Depop label or QR code | Use that order’s label, then lodge the parcel |
| Uses manual shipping without a supplied label | Arrange tracked postage and add tracking to the sale |
If an order is meant to use Depop Shipping but its label is missing, contact Depop before posting. A missing label does not by itself mean the order should be fulfilled manually.
Consider a shop with a jacket listed before account access and a shirt created afterwards. The jacket might still need a separately purchased label; the shirt might already have one attached to its order. Buying postage for both in one external batch without checking can mean paying twice for the shirt.
If you copy or relist an older item, review the replacement’s shipping settings. An old listing’s manual arrangement should not be assumed to carry into a newly created listing.
What Depop handles, and what stays with you
For an integrated order, Depop supplies the shipping document and links its tracking. The seller remains responsible for the item, packaging, dispatch and correct order details.
Check that the contents match the sale and the packaging suits the item. The shipping policy also requires an accurate dispatches from address and a label used only for its matching order. Review those details before a busy packing session.

Labels, QR codes and drop-off
The sale email and sold-order screen provide access to the shipping document. A QR code can be taken to a participating Post Office that offers label printing. If you prefer to print at home, use the downloadable label.
For parcel lockers or street posting boxes, follow Depop’s instruction to print the label at home and attach it before drop-off. If you need a Post Office to print it from the QR code, use a participating counter instead.
With Depop Shipping, you do not need to manually enter tracking or mark the order as shipped. Keep your lodgement evidence and check progress through the order. If a label is missing or does not match the sale, resolve that through Depop before replacing it with independently purchased postage.
What changes for seller protection?
The seller protection programme requires an eligible sale to use its Depop Shipping label and meet the other conditions. Buying a separate Australia Post label is not equivalent merely because the carrier is the same.
Our Australian seller protection guide explains the A$450 transaction limit, dispatch deadline and exclusions. Protection is conditional; it is not parcel insurance or an automatic refund promise.
Will Depop Shipping be cheaper?
Our Australian Depop shipping price table records Small at A$8.49, Medium at A$9.99 and Large at A$12.99 in a connected-account catalogue check on 4 November 2026. It includes Depop’s suggested items for each tier and explains the scope of the check.
Check the service and charge shown in your own listing or order. The official sources reviewed for this article do not establish a single public Australian rate that applies to every seller and parcel.
Compare the packed weight, dimensions, destination, service and included features. Record the charge actually shown by Depop before changing your pricing or promising free delivery. A MyPost Business example in another article is not a quote for a supplied Depop label.
Prepare your shop for the transition
- Check your details. Make sure the dispatch address is current and review the shipping options available when creating a new listing.
- Choose how you will print. Have a home-printing method ready or find a Post Office that can print from the QR code.
- Keep older stock identifiable. Note which listings still use Other shipping so their postage is handled separately.
- Check orders before a label batch. Match each sold item to its supplied label or manual-shipping route before paying for external postage.
- Keep lodgement records. Add tracking for manual orders; supplied Depop labels connect their own tracking.
If you use Listalong to cross-list between eBay and Depop, review the new listing’s shipping settings and fulfil each marketplace order using its permitted method. Our combined label workflow applies to eligible orders where you arrange your own postage.
Frequently asked questions
When does Depop Shipping start in Australia?
Depop’s Australian shipping policy applies to users who signed up from 6 October 2026, and takes effect for existing users on 26 October 2026. Depop also says access is being rolled out in phases, so check your account and the shipping method on each listing and order.
Will my existing Depop listings automatically change to Depop Shipping?
Depop says existing listings retain their Other shipping setting. Listings created before your account joined the rollout can still need manual postage. Check the sold order before buying a label.
Does Depop pack and send the item for me?
No. Depop provides the Australia Post label or QR code and connected tracking for Depop Shipping orders. The seller still packs the item, checks its details and lodges the parcel.
Can I buy my own Australia Post label for a Depop Shipping order?
Use the label supplied for that Depop order. Depop says replacing it with another shipping method removes eligibility for its seller protection and may lead to cancellation and a refund. Older manual-shipping orders follow a different process.
