Selling on eBay and Facebook Marketplace at the same time means advertising the same available stock through two different buying routes. An eBay listing might offer a posted purchase, while a Facebook advert offers local collection. The photographs and item facts can be reused, but the promises and availability need to stay clear.

Listalong now crosslists existing eBay and Depop items to Facebook Marketplace and supports connected stock updates through its browser connector. That gives you a way to reuse listing work and manage linked adverts when one physical item is reserved or sold.

Start with a simple rule: one item, one stock record, one buyer to fulfil. Adding another advert creates another place to maintain availability; it does not create another item in your storage box.

Decide which eBay items suit a Facebook offer

Choose stock for which you can make a useful local offer and handle the collection. A jacket with clear measurements, a small household item or a collectible you can identify precisely may be straightforward to assess. The right choice depends on what you have and how you can fulfil it.

Check the existing eBay offer first. Is it a single item? Are its photographs current? Is an accessory included? Is it already committed to a buyer? An advert should describe what you can actually hand over.

Listalong’s current Facebook workflow supports Australian-dollar, single-item listings. Do not treat a listing with several quantities or variations as though it were one unique garment. For channel selection, see our Facebook Marketplace versus eBay guide.

Crosslist the listing and connect the stock record

In Listalong, select the existing eBay item, press Crosslist and choose Facebook Marketplace. Listalong reuses your photos and supported details, matches a Facebook category and fills the listing form.

Facebook publishing and status syncing need the Listalong Connector in Chrome or Edge. Connect Facebook, confirm the account name, and keep your computer on, browser open and Facebook signed in. If you switch Facebook accounts, reconnect before publishing.

After crosslisting, check the Facebook advert and confirm that it belongs to the correct stock record. Similar titles are not enough to identify two jackets in different sizes. Use a private stock reference that points to the physical item and its listing links.

The eBay to Facebook crosslisting guide walks through the publishing steps. For several separate items, use the bulk crosslisting checklist.

Make the offer clear on each marketplace

Keep factual details consistent: brand, model, size, measurements, condition and included accessories. Review fulfilment and price for each channel.

For example, suppose a jacket is A$60 on eBay with postage included. You might choose a different Facebook pickup price after reviewing delivery costs and the time involved in collection. There is no universal percentage to subtract. Use your actual costs and the specific offer you want to make.

Facebook uses whole-dollar prices in Listalong’s current workflow, so check the resulting price if your source amount includes cents. Remove any copied shipping promise that does not belong in the Facebook offer. State the collection area clearly and use Facebook to arrange messages and pickup.

Work through a hold before it becomes a second order

Consider one jacket advertised on both marketplaces. A Facebook buyer asks to collect tomorrow. An enquiry alone does not tell you whether to reserve it: agree on your hold terms and record what you have promised.

With the connector connected, marking a correctly linked Facebook item pending ends its matching eBay and Depop listings. Pending is not recorded as a sale. Inspect the result, particularly before telling the buyer the jacket is reserved.

Avoid promising immediate protection against every simultaneous order. Connection state, correct item links and completed updates all matter. If the browser is closed or Facebook needs reconnection, inspect the other adverts directly before committing the item to another buyer.

Keep buyer conversations with the right order

Crosslisting does not move Facebook messages into eBay. Use Facebook for Facebook enquiries and collection arrangements, and keep an eBay order’s communication and fulfilment in the appropriate eBay workflow.

For local holds, record the item, agreed collection window and next action. The Facebook pickup message templates provide wording for collection confirmations and missed appointments. The pending and sold guide covers those stock states in more detail.

End the day with the actual stock position

Review completed sales and outstanding reservations separately. Match each one to the physical item and inspect every connected advert that needs an update. If a hold ends, check possession, condition and any orders before making the item purchasable again.

You can sell through both channels without rewriting every listing. The repeatable workflow is to reuse the accurate facts, review the destination offer, connect the stock and check availability when a buyer commits. See Facebook Marketplace crosslisting with Listalong to set up your first item.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sell the same item on eBay and Facebook Marketplace?

You can prepare listings for the same item where each marketplace permits it and your account can sell it. Keep the records connected and manage availability when the item is held or sold. One physical item cannot fulfil two orders.

Does an eBay sale automatically remove my Facebook listing?

A separate Facebook advert should not be assumed to update because the item sold on eBay. For correctly linked stock, Listalong can mark the Facebook listing sold after an eBay or Depop sale, while its Facebook connector is connected and running. Check that the update completes.

What happens if a Facebook buyer does not collect?

Confirm the hold has ended and that the item is still available. With Listalong, marking the linked Facebook item available triggers a reminder to relist elsewhere. It does not automatically restore eBay or Depop listings ended during the hold.
